3 Arroyo kin richest in House 2 cols top

MANILA - The three Arroyos in the House of Representatives, together
with several neophytes or first-term congressmen, are among the country's
richest lawmakers.
A summary of the assets, liabilities and net worth of members, which
he House released showed that Negros Occidental Rep. Jose Ignacio
"Iggy" Arroyo, brother of First Gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo,
is the richest Arroyo in the legislature.
Iggy, who once claimed to be Jose Pidal, declared assets of P153.4
million, liabilities of P7.6 million, for a net worth of P145.8 million.
He is No. 9 in the list. He was among the five richest House members
in the 13th Congress with assets of more than P280 million. The list
did not explain why his wealth dwindled by almost half.
Presidential son and Pampanga Rep. Juan Miguel Arroyo is the 20th
richest with assets of P155 million, liabilities of P58.2 million
or a net worth of P96.7 million. His younger brother, Rep. Diosdado
Arroyo of Camarines Sur, valued his assets at P86.3 million, with
liabilities of P2.5 million for a net worth of P83.7 million.
Las Piñas Rep. Cynthia Villar remains the richest House member
with a net worth of P1 billion with no liabilities. Rep. Crispin Beltran
of the labor group Anakpawis, who died after falling from the roof
of his house while fixing leaks, was the poorest with assets of P110,000
and liabilities of P60,000.
The second richest is Leyte Rep. Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, who declared
his assets at P477 million with no liabilities. He is the son of former
governor Benjamin "Kokoy" Romualdez, brother of former first
lady Imelda Romualdez Marcos, who reportedly ontrolled Meralco, the
Journal group of publications, and several banking and mining firms
during martial law.
His first cousin, Ilocos Norte Rep. Ferdinand Marcos Jr., is in 13th
place with assets of P120.5 million with no liabilities. The third
richest House member is Julio Ledesma IV, also of Negros Occidental,
who valued his assets at P473.4 million, liabilities at P67.2 million
for a net worth of P406.2 million. Romualdez, Diosdado Arroyo and
Marcos are first-term members, while Ledesma is a 'returnee,' having
been a member of previous Congresses.
Judy Syjuco of Iloilo follows Ledesma, with assets of P271.4 million
and liabilities of P15 million, for a net worth of P256.4 million.
Another neophyte, Rep. Edgar San Luis, is in 5th place with assets
of P201.2 million, liabilities of P512,061 or a net worth of P200.7
million.
In 6th is Iloilo's Ferjenel Biron who is worth P190 million with no
Liabilities. He is followed by Rodolfo Valencia of Mindoro Oriental
with assets of P351.6 million, liabilities of P210.1 million or a
net worth of P150.5 million.
In 8th place is another neophyte, Aurelio Gonzales Jr. of Pampanga,
who valued his assets at P158.7 million, liabilities at P11 million
for a net worth of P147.7 million. Gonzales was a public works contractor
before seeking a House seat. The
other richest House members and their net worth are Paul Daza of
Northern Samar, P137.9 million; Amado Bagatsing of Manila, P129.4
million; Carissa Coscolluela of the party-list group Buhay, P124.2
million; Antonio Diaz of Zambales, P113.5 million; Monica Prieto
Teodoro of Tarlac, P110.6 million; Teodoro Locsin Jr. of Makati,
P105.3 million; Florencio Vargas of Cagayan, P103.4 million; Mary
Anne Susano of Quezon City, P100.1 million; and Glenda Ecleo of
Dinagat Islands, P99.3 million.
Juan
Edgardo Angara of Aurora, who was in the Top 10 in the previous
Congress, was in 25th place with a net worth of P87.3 million. He
is the son of Sen. Edgardo Angara. Sally Ponce Enrile of Cagayan,
daughter-in- law of Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile, is worth P71.6 million.
The
poorest House members include Satur Ocampo and Teodoro Casiño
of Bayan Muna, who have net worth of P618,147.33 and P307,900, respectively.
They have no liabilities.
Another poor member is Mujiv Hataman of Anak Mindanao, with assets
of P2.2 million, liabilities of P700,000 for a net worth of P1.5
million.
